2nd hand into a multi-table NL rebuy tourney I pick up KK. I go all-in PF because I know while the rebuy is on I'll get one or two calls with random hands. One call, and he has 97o. You have to love people who call with junk like that, right?
The board...2 8 4 7 7
It just hurts when people play hands like that and win. Especially when they say something in chat about "just having a feeling about the hand" |

What was his chip status? How many chips did u have?
He may have thought u were trying to steal the blinds, but i dont understand how he could call with that shitty hand. Sometimes, people take chances with weird hands like that, especially if they have chips to spare/donate.
Tough break tho. You had him murdered. |

It was early in the tournament so we were equal with about 2000 chips each. The blinds were 20/40.
It would have been silly for me to go all-in just to steal such small blinds, and with the tiny blinds he was under no pressure to play. He played that hand because he felt like it.
It's true, I got exactly what I wanted - an all-in where I was about 85% to win. It was just bad luck.
I've noticed some people play completely wildly while rebuy is on. I assume they figure they can take a big lead if they happen to catch a flop, and get a second chance via the rebuy. It never seemed like a good idea -- I've always thought that rebuying in general is a weak play (since you're paying to be in a below-average position in the tournament, when you could use the same money to start fresh). |

| As far as I am concerned, it really doesn't matter if someone thought you were trying to steal it, the guy had 9-7, you can't call that. That is a phenomenem that I will never understand, why do people call a guy down when they think he is bluffing when there hand can't even beat a bluff |

had almost the exact thing happen to me last night on a 20 SnG.
Granted, I -was- short stacked (about 600 chips), and he had me covered about 5-1. Blinds were 50/100.
Heads up play, I had QQ, he had.. J4o.
Flop: Q A 5.
Turn: 3
River: 2
Giving him the A-5 straight over my set of ladies.
Had to log off UB after than one, I was absolutely dumbfounded why he would call (he was on the Button and had 0 chips commited). The only thing I could muster was "A straight! Of course!". |
