I was dealt QQ small blind ( 2/4 NL 6 players) , The player under the gun limp in , one player called other players fold on my turn I've raised 4 times (12$), big blind called and the first player moved allin with 170$ ,me and the other player folded and BB called
Showdown
1st player AKs
Big Blind JJ
Flop came Q 9 A 2 4 (rainbow)
Should I call that bet with QQ ? the table wasn't very tight but it wasn't very loose too , I thought that Player 1 Had AA or KK (limping in at first position hoping to reraise) and I had 290$ , and how you'd play this hand instead of me ? |

| I would've called. The only hand that beats you at that point is AA. You had the odds, and there's no shame in getting beat to that. Then again, with my luck, he definitely would've had AA. |

An easy muck.
Unless the guy is totally clueless, he should have AA, KK, or AK. Without knowing that the BB will call, you are getting just better than even money. You are only 55-45 fave over AK and a massive underdog to AA and KK.
I would have done the same thing. |

Queens beat Kings?
Easy muck IMO, like angus said, you're only ahead of 1 hand out of 3 that a sane player would do this with and you're almost a coinflip with that hand.
Although if you knew what utg had and that the bb was going to call you should call, unfortunately we don't know what our opponents hold. |

| In his defense, I believe that he mistakenly thought the laydown came post-flop, when QQ would only be beaten by AA. |

| It's a tough one, but yes folding is correct. On the other hand, if you're going to call a big bet always try and put your opponent on a hand you can beat. |

Good fold...gotta figure someone for AA or KK with that type of raise.
Wait for a better situation and make them pay to see your QQ when you know it's best... |

| Very good fold, you have to figure you're possibly beat or a coinflip at this point - however, it's not all that cut and dry. It depends on how much you're willing to gamble, and how loose / bad the table is. If the players are bad, it's not all that impossible that the guy had a lower PP than your Queens, or a slightly weaker Ace such as A-J or A-Q (you're all correct, no SANE player would do this, but not everyone is sane, otherwise we wouldn't have a poker forum.) The correct play is fold, but if you had a read that nobody had A-A or K-K, and were willing to gamble to win a huge pot, you could call. Here, it sucks to see you'd have flopped a set and buried both of them, but this won't always happen. Better luck next time. |
